October 16, 2019 - The best glowing skin recipe

What better way to put your best face forwards in the mornings than with a few refreshing sprays of LUMION mist and a healthy, skin boosting smoothie?!

There are loads of foods that help with achieving glowing skin from the inside out so we decided to combine some of nature's finest: avocado, pineapple, mango, chia, coconut water, flaxseed oil and spinach (or kale) in an energizing smoothie that shows your beautiful skin all of the love it deserves and it's rich in antioxidants!

Chia Seeds

The Omega-3 fatty acids found in chia seeds can not only protect the outer layer of your skin from bacteria but it can soothe inflammation.

This superfood is considered to be Mother Nature's one moisturizer due to its rich content of monounsaturated fats and fat-soluble vitamins. Want hydrated skin? Eat more avocados.

Coconut Water

Also idea for hydration, coconut water is filled with electrolytes, selenium, vitamin C, zinc and iodine which all help to protect your skin and keep it looking youthful and plump!

Mangos & Pineapple

What's a smoothie with some delicious fruit?! Pineapples are high in vitamin C which aids in the production of collagen and mangos contain carotenoids which help give your skin a rosy glow!

Spinach & Kale

Greens are a must in your smoothie so we suggest using spinach, kale or both! Both of these dark leafy greens are an excellent source for removing acne causing toxins from our bodies and are both rich in vitamin K which helps reduce skin inflammation.

Flaxseed Oil

Filled with antioxidants, flaxseed oil helps to protect the skin from UV rays, free-radicals and its anti-inflammatory properties help to minimize skin irritations and redness.

A good source of iron and potassium which is ideal for reducing annoying menstrual cramps during that time of the month, bananas are also rich in vitamin A, B and E which all work as anti-aging agents!

Quick and easy to whip up!

  • 1/2 cup plain coconut water
  • 2 frozen ripe bananas (peeled & sliced)
  • 1 cup chopped pineapple (frozen)
  • 1 cup chopped mango (frozen)
  • 2 cups spinach or kale
  • 1/2 avocado, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon flaxseed oil
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds

It's simple LUMION lovers, all you have to do is combine all of the ingredients in a blender and blend on high for at least 3 minutes or until smooth! (We suggest frozen fruits that way you don't have to worry about using ice).
