There's nothing like showing a little self-love than by pampering yourself in the comfort of your own home! From taking long, hot bubble baths to just laying on the couch all day in your pj's binging your favorite Netflix series, self-care rituals are a thing and should be practiced weekly!
One of our favorite ways to treat ourselves is by preparing our skin for the week ahead by whipping up a face mask with ingredients you most likely already have in your kitchen! With a total prep time of 1 minute, this Honey, Cinnamon, Nutmeg recipe will have your skin feeling cool, calm and collected for whatever might come its way.
The DIY mask not only smells AMAZING, but it works wonders for stressed out, acne prone skin. Although cinnamon may irritate some skin types (test mixture on a small patch of skin before applying to entire face) it's great for exfoliating dead skin cells as well as aiding in blood circulation and oxygenation which can help dry out pimples and blackheads! Nutmeg also helps with exfoliating thanks to its texture but more importantly it has anti-inflammatory properties!
And if you really want to kick it up a notch and give your skin a little extra GLOW then squeeze in 1 lemon wedge to the mix! Lemon is a great source of vitamin C which can help brighten your complexion, even out skin tone and act as a natural astringent to tighten pores!
To make this easy DIY face mask recipe, all you will need is...
2 tablespoons of honey
1 teaspoon of nutmeg
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 lemon wedge (optional)
Mix all of your ingredients up until you reach a paste like consistency. Leave on for about 15-30 minutes then wash off with warm water making sure to scrub gently in a circular motion to help with exfoliation.
